Luxury Wellness Travel: Four Bespoke Wellness Journeys Designed Around You

Luxury travel has long been about discovering extraordinary places. Today, however, more travellers are seeking journeys that offer something even more valuable: the opportunity to return home feeling restored, rebalanced and inspired.

At Travellers' Tales, we believe the most rewarding journeys combine exceptional destinations with experiences that have a lasting impact. That's why we've partnered with Maison You, the personalised wellness curator, to create a collection of bespoke wellness journeys that blend transformative wellbeing with immersive travel.

Whether you're drawn to Colombia's ancestral healing traditions, the restorative waters of Mexico, the tranquillity of the Austrian Alps or Greece's quieter landscapes, every itinerary is designed around your individual wellbeing goals, interests and pace of travel.

What Makes a Bespoke Wellness Journey Different?

A wellness holiday should never feel like a one-size-fits-all retreat.

Our approach begins by understanding you. Working closely with Maison You, we take the time to learn what you're hoping to achieve from your journey, whether that's complete relaxation, a digital detox, improved wellbeing, time in nature or simply the opportunity to slow down.

From there, every element of your itinerary is tailored to your needs. Accommodation, wellness experiences, cultural encounters, private guiding and seamless extensions are carefully curated to create a journey that feels entirely personal.

Rather than following a fixed programme, you'll experience wellness through the landscapes, traditions and cultures that make each destination unique.

Colombia: Healing Rhythms of the Caribbean (10-12 days)

Colombia’s Caribbean coast sets the scene for a restorative journey through colour, ritual and nature. Beginning in Cartagena, guests ease into the experience with rooftop yoga, meditation and treatments at UMARI Spa, where native botanicals and Colombian healing traditions are used to restore balance.

The journey continues in the Sierra Nevada at Tewimake, a serene eco-lodge set between jungle and river. Here, guests explore healing traditions shaped by the wisdom of the Kogi and Arhuaco communities, with rituals using native plants, herbal infusions and practices centred on grounding and connection to nature.

Days can include hiking through Tayrona National Park, swimming beneath waterfalls and drifting along rivers, where water becomes a central part of the reset.

Best time to go: December to April

Prices start from £7,000 per person, with each journey personally tailored and booked through Travellers’ Tales.

Mexico: Between Two Blues (7–8 days)

Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula sets the scene for a restorative journey between the freshwater calm of Bacalar and the open Caribbean coast. Beginning at Habitas Bacalar, guests can swim in the Lake of Seven Colours at sunrise, practise yoga and breathwork on the dock, kayak through the lagoon and take part in a traditional temazcal ceremony rooted in Maya healing traditions.

The journey continues north to Belmond Maroma, where the jungle meets the Caribbean Sea and the focus shifts to deeply personalised wellness. Experiences can include Guerlain spa rituals, cacao ceremonies, sound healing at the Melipona Bee Sanctuary, snorkelling on the Mesoamerican Reef and a dawn visit to Chichén Itzá before the crowds arrive.

For those seeking a deeper wellness experience, the itinerary can be extended with a stay at SHA Mexico, located approximately 30 minutes from Cancún, adding a personalised, longevity-focused conclusion to the journey.

Best time to go: November to April

Prices start from £5,000 per person, with each journey personally tailored and booked through Travellers’ Tales.

Above the World: An Alpine Reset (4 nights)

Set high in the Tyrolean Alps, this retreat balances mountain energy with deep restoration. Guests stay at eriro, a nine-suite alpine hideaway on the edge of the Ehrwalder Alm, 1,550 metres above sea level, with no screens, no noise and uninterrupted views of the Zugspitze massif.

Days may include snowshoeing to frozen Seebensee lake, snow meditation, alpine herb foraging, private tea ceremonies and dawn wildlife tracking. Afterwards, guests return to Roa Spa for hot pools, saunas and treatments overlooking the Wetterstein massif, with evenings centred around fire-cooked dinners.

For a deeper reset, the itinerary can be extended with a four-night longevity programme at Lanserhof Tegernsee, including diagnostics, personalised nutrition and targeted therapies.

Best time to go: December to April

Prices start from £3,900 per person, with each journey personally tailored and booked through Travellers’ Tales.

The Undiscovered Greek Summer (3 nights/4 days)

Far from the familiar island circuit, this retreat reveals a quieter side of Greece, where mountain air, ancient trails, forest rituals and elemental wellness replace the expected beach-break formula.

The journey begins in Arcadia at Manna, a restored 1929 sanatorium set at 1,200 metres in the fir forests of the Peloponnese. Days are spent walking the Mainalo Trail, canoeing the Lousios Gorge and exploring stone villages, waterfalls and Byzantine churches, before returning to Manna’s cave pool, forest sauna and Ursa Major hot and cold stone ritual.

For those wishing to continue to the sea, Travellers’ Tales can extend the journey to Antiparos, where The Rooster sits within 30 acres of cedar groves, sand dunes and wild coastline. With just 17 private suites, each with its own pool, the hotel offers organic farm food, a deeply personal spa philosophy and the distinctive Grecian Fire Ceremony.

Best time to go: May to October

Prices start from £3,500 per person, with each journey personally tailored and booked through Travellers’ Tales.
